I Love Signing Time! (and our library)

When we were in the hospital having Emiline (can you believe it was 4 months ago!), one of the nurses told us about a DVD series called Signing Time. We decided to check it out from the library and try to really buckle down and teach Kennedy. At first she would have nothing to do with the signing, but she loved watching the DVDs. I think there are something like 13 of them and we've only just watched the 4th one a few times. Now, she loves to sign and knows so many. She does it on her own, and I'm learning a lot as well. It is really cool. It doesn't take up any extra time (which is great) and it has become almost a habit. We try to keep a list up on the wall (obviously not while we're moving) of all the signs she knows and we've learned so we can practice at the dinner table or whenever. The other kids are picking it up as well. One of these days, I'm going to invest in the whole thing, but until then, the library is wonderful.

Once I reserved what I thought was the next one, and it turned out to be only a CD of some of the songs. Kennedy sat on the couch in anticipation and when there was only music coming out of the TV, she started to cry! How could I have done such an awful thing to her!!! I'm glad she enjoys it. Hopefully we can keep it up and she will have a very useful skill as she gets older.

Arrow of Light

Preston has been working really hard on his cubscouts and just earned his Arrow of Light. This is the highest award you can earn while a cubscout. We are really proud of him! He is now determined to earn as many of the rest of the activity badges as possible before his birthday.

Things are looking good

As most of you know, our house is in contract. Hurray!! Things are coming together. We have the buyer's pre-approval letter and the inspection was today. We were told by our realtor that it went well. The appraisal is scheduled for tomorrow. The buyers plan to close on Feb. 25th, and it's looking like it might happen. I just wanted to express how blessed we feel.

Now, we just need to find a place to go!! (No worries, it will happen.)

Hurray for Grandma!

Mom came over the other day and made these cute "grass heads" with the kids. They had such a great time! We can't wait for the grass seed to grow so w can style their "hair!"

Thanks Grandma!!
